StudyPerth organised Airport Greeter Volunteering Which is non profit work for welcoming international students from overseas.I had a great experience at volunteering with my friends at the Airport.I got many advantages from that .For example improving my communication skills, make new kind friends, leading a team and help students and people in the Airport.Honestly , I enjoyed every hours at the shift, standing near the arrivals gate with welcoming sign not just for welcoming international students, but watching children and people who are waiting for their families or friends with flowers or sign of their names and how they are happy and excited that always take my emotions and put smile on my face.
My experience as a volunteer at the airport was beautiful and amazing to me, because I helped many new students and gave them packs containing many things that might be useful for them here in Perth. Moreover, this experience has taught me that helping people is beautiful, especially helping them in a town that is not their hometown, makes them feel happy and safe.
StudyPerth volunteering work was really the best experiment in my life. It gave me the vision how the collaboration between the teem members will happen to help people or students in the future work. Also, every time I meet new volunteers and that makes me doing many friendships with many international students. Commitment is the best thing that I have learnt from the volunteering work.
From my experience of volunteering with StudyPerth for more than a year, I can see how much my social skills has improved. Making new friends, meeting and working with people from different countries and backgrounds; always help with improving teamwork skills as well.
Volunteering StudyPerth Welcome Desk has had several dimensions, including the social aspect of it and the creation of new friendships and networking, as well as providing assistance to new students. You are enriching your knowledge more and more about Perth and about the education in Western Australia. There are always questions from new arrivals, questions about transportation, accommodation, best places to visit and also some information about their universities. This sometimes requires more research to provide an accurate response. Also, there is no doubt that the work enhanced my experience in dealing with the tasks and management of the team's working time because we have done many packaging work in groups, which required clear communication between members.
At studyPerth, I had the chance to work with great volunteers and make new wonderful friends. I always believed that volunteering brings the best out of people, and at studyPerth, I had the chance to improve many skills such as communication skills by being informative and by working in groups to welcome and help new students who just arrived to study in WA.
